ABR: Advanced Brass Repairs

Students will learn the proper techniques for repairing brass instruments. 

• Remove very stuck slides
  • Rope technique
  • Hammer techniques
  • Unsolder
• Valve repair
  • Straightening and re-rounding the cylinders
  • Straightening valves
  • Lapping & honing
• Solder work
  • Learn proper soldering techniques
  • Learn the different solder points
  • Learn how to completely rebuild a brass instrument
• Dent work
  • Learn proper dent work techniques for:
    • ​Mandrels
    • Rollers
    • Hammering
    • Dent Balls
    • Burnishing
    • Magnets
• Solder patches
  • Learn how to create solder patches
• Braze points
  • Learn how to braze braces and keys

This course will take (80) 2-hour sessions @ $35.00 = $2,800.00

(All 2-hour sessions must be purchased in bocks of 10)

*If a student needs more time to become proficiant, they are welcome to add more sessions at the standard price.
